State Information Center
State Information Center (SIC) was established in Jan. 1987, being directly affiliated to China 's top economic planner-National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). The guiding principal of SIC is to follow the instruction of Scientific Concept of Development, centering on three major functions- consultation services for decision-making, information content services and information technology services. SIC devotes itself to the construction of “Two Networks and One System” , namely, the Vertical Network of NDRC, National E-Government Network and Macroeconomic Management Information System. All the efforts are exerted to further improve SIC's comprehensive capacities of services so as to contribute to China 's informatization development.
Under the direct leadership of NDRC, SIC provides high-quality consultation services for decision making of the State Council (China's Cabinet) and macroeconomic management departments by strengthening the research in middle- and long-term strategic development of national economy, macroeconomic forecasting and monitoring, and the policy formulation and quick response to the key and hot issues in national economic operations. It fully plays a role as an important information source and think tank. To promote the development of China 's informatization course, SIC is actively involved in the research of key issues in informatization development, the construction of important informatization projects and comprehensive economic information systems. SIC has also made significant achievements in information resource development and application, network construction, system integration, and e-governance, which serves a positive role in decision-making consultation and technical support. |
